Gastroparesis patients?!
Question: im 14 and my mom developed gastroparesis when i was 7-9 years old. rumors go around through school about my mom and her disease and i fight everyone of the rumors and people who started them. well insurance has stopped paying for certain things like her food for her j-tube feeding pump combo.they have stopped paying for medicines too. basically everything she needs to survive. im ready to go over to the insurance company and give them a piece of my mind, but i know they won`t take me seriously cause im a minor. i have already considered calling them and raising hell, but i probably won`t. it will make matters worse. my mom is now laying on her bed and is crying, cause she doesn`t know what to do. it kills me to see her like this and facing the facts that she is dying right infront of my eyes and i can`t do anything about it. i would give my life for her. coming up in a couple weeks we are goin to see if she can get 5 organ transplants, but im not sure if she will last that long..

Sweety, I'm so sorry you are going through this. It sounds like you've been a wonderful support to her. You sound like a very strong girl, and she's lucky to have you right now. I'm so sorry you have to see her like that. It must be terrifying for you and very frustrating at the same time. I have gastroparesis...I'm currently on a clear liquid only diet. I'm part of a wonderful yahoo group that you should check out. It's for people and family/friends of people with gastroparesis. They're very understanding and they're great listeners. You have to apply, but it's easy to join if you're sincere. I really think it would be helpful to you. I wish I had answers for you and that I could make everything better. I wish I could call the insurance company and make them pay for everything. G-pact has done things like that on behalf of people. Sometimes if enough people harass an insurance company they will agree to do something. I don't know if they can help, but the group will give you moral support at the very least. They have been an enormous help to me in that way. I can promise you that you'll atleast find plenty of people that understand what your going through because they've been there themselves.
