Can you catch STD if you shower right after?!
Question: I had an encounter with somebody who has STD (but you can't see, they tested positive later).
BUT, I showered real well with soap right after (and even urinated, so nothing could've climbed up that way).
Is it safe to say I'm clean? (I'm gonna go for a test anyways).
I heard that lots of people exaggerate that you catch STD's 100% of the time... is it true you can only catch it like 10% of the time - specially if you don't clean up?

Showering won't do a thing. Peeing, no.
100% of people who have sex with someone infected with an STD do not always become infected, but those who have unprotected sex have a much better chance of catching the disease. Even if you have a three second quicky.
I'd say you go get checked out even if you don't feel as if it is neccessary.
Oh, and if it is genital warts, you may not have an outbreak for months or years. And the only way that you can be diagnosed with it is if you have an outbreak. Also, if that is the disease, and I'm guessing you know what it is, you will still be contagious even before you have the outbreak.
I believe that is the only disease like that.

youre right. you dont catch the STD 100% of the time. but the fact that you showered right after does nothing in decreasing the chances of you having caught the STD. get yourself checked.
It is NOT true that you catch them 100% of the time.
But catching them has more to do with if the virus finds a way to enter into your skin while you're having sex.., not how well you wash up afterwards..,
This is why condoms are so important!
It never hurts to take a shower.., but it's not going to save you from an STD.., but that doesn't mean you have one either!
Best bet is, like you said, to have a Dr. test you. If you've been having sex without a condom, you should get tested for everything anyway.., it's only fair to your next partner.

Some things are much harder to catch then others. Like crabs and warts are very easy to catch.., AIDS is much harder, herpes is only easy to catch when someone is having an outbreak.., ect..,
yea, scrubbing off the outside is really gonna help you with what you had going on the inside
