Do your legs ever get REALLY itchy when you take off your jeans?!

Question: I have a thing with jeans so I wear them a lot. Anyway, I'm totally fine during the day, then when I get ready for bed & take them off, my thighs & 1/2 way down my calves start itching like MAD.

I do have really sensitive skin & I've tried every body lotion on the planet. My skin is really soft because I use it every day after my shower. But, once they start itching, I can't stop & I get tiny bumps all over my legs from scratching. What is that?

It can't be anything like bed bugs because that's what I thought so I changed our mattress, and since then have changed to a 3rd mattress. The 2nd & 3rd are both brand new and my fiance doesn't itch like that.

I bought hyrdrocortisone cream, which seems to help initially but not for long.

Any thoughts? Does this happen to you ever?

This happens to me when I wear "tighter" jeans too. (I never thought about how it doesn't happen otherwise ... maybe the tightness brings it on?) I do have dry skin so I applied extra lotion to the backs of my thighs. It helped a little, but didn't fix the problem. I did more "experiments" (if that's what you want to call them) and realized that it is always worse the day of or day after I shave. I haven't tried waxing yet, but if I use Veet (I'm sure any lotion hair remover would work too) on my thighs and make sure to apply lotion the problem goes away. I don't know if its the case for you, but for myself, I have decided it is caused by a combination of dry skin and freshly shaved hair starting to grow back. Good luck. I hope that works for you, but even if it doesn't it's worth a try. I know how annoying it can be. :)

You know I remember the same thing happening to me and I think I came to the conclusion that I was probably allergic to the dye in the jeans. So I would wash the jeans that cause you the most problems several times and see if that helps!

There probably is something between your skin and jeans, for I do not have that and neither do any of my friends - for they dont complain.
See a dermatologist?

Yeaahh mine do. Or anything like jeans and leggins

change your laundry detergent. get a "scent-free" one or one for sensitive skin without the perfumes.

You are alergic to your fiance

Could be the shaving as someone else posted but I noticed when I am extremely warm and I get undressed at night, the same thing happens. I think for me it is the temp change in the air. This happens when I shower too. If I use pretty hot water, the minute the water hits my back it's start to itch like crazy and gets really red. SO for me I think it is the temp/air on my skin. Oh and another example, ( I know you are not in really cold weather) but when I come in from outside on a cold day to the warm house the same thing happens to me. So weird. If the hydrocortisone has stopped working maybe try some Benydryl. The pills or the kind you take by mouth and some itching cream together. Maybe the two together will work a little better.

Your jeans are either too tight and it is cutting off the circulation and you shave too often stripping away the top layer of skin. No amount of lotion can replace the moisture loss of those two combined things. YOU are irritating the skin. Go up one size in jeans for relief. The "itching" after you take your jeans off, is just blood flow returning to normal. Ease up on the shaving too. Try using a really nice razor and a moisturizing shave lotion. Hope this makes sense to you.

Yes.

Sweat and dry skin -- heat drying out your skin making you itchy. Use lotion.
