Being South Asian and your heart.?!

Question: I found out that being of South Asian descent severely increases your chances of heart disease and stroke because South Asians have small arteries. Does anybody have any other information on this and any other reasons as to why being South Asian is not good for your heart.

P.S. This is not some BS that is made up! This is a true fact! And I am South Asian myself. So I am not being racist!

That is absolutely correct. There has been new studies that came out stating the Asians have a high risk of heart disease and hypertension (EVEN WHEN THEY ARE SKINNY!). They are still gathering information regarding the cause because the cause remains unknown. The size of the blood vessels is NOT the reason.

I should know....because I'm southeast Asian...and a physician! :)
