What CAN I eat if I can't have iodine?!
Question: I am going for a procedure to check for thyroid issues and was instructed not to eat anything with iodine in it for 5 days. I did some research and it seems almost EVERYTHING has iodine in it!! Daily products, soy product, egg products, seafood, even spinach and some greens. What CAN I eat?
Please give me some suggestions so I can go to the store and get the right foods for the next 5 days. Thank you!!!

Almost all fruits and vegetables are low in iodine (Spinach and potato skins are high in iodine). They won't be completely iodine free because the soil that the fruits and veggies grow in contain iodine. Also, you can eat chicken and beef. You can eat egg whites but no yolks, as yolks contain lots of iodine.
salt has iodine in it,
you can even buy iodine salt. also gator aid has
a large amount of salt.
hope it helps
