How do I deal?!

Question: I just found out that my mother has a brain tumor. Is not cancerous but it is the size of a grapefruit. Right now I feel like my world is coming down on me. I guess I'm still in shock. I'm trying not to cry and fall apart because I'm trying to be strong for her. Is any body out there that has gone thru some thing like this that can help me. I just need some advice on how to deal with this. I really feel lost. Thanks

First of all (((hugs))). Now take a deep breath.

OK - go to your doctor, or your Mom's doctor and tell them that you are having a difficult time coping with things right now and ask if they can give you something mild to help you through this period of time.

Next, either find out through your doctor, or if in school, your school counselor, where you can get free counseling to help you cope. There are often groups or individual counseling.

Becoming a care-taker of someone who is ill is stressful. You need to be sure you are eating and sleeping and getting supportive help wherever you can.

When my husband was fighting cancer both my daughter and I went on anti-depressants as well as anxiety medicine. We also both attended and still attend counseling.

My prayers and healing thoughts are with you.

find something that makes you feel better, music, writing, anything. let yourself be upset, that's natural. if you don't, you'll just completely breakdown eventually.

Just find the good. It is not cancerous which is something to be very grateful for and the tumor may be able to removed more easily. Take your mind off of it and be strong. Everything will be better soon. Stay positive

Hi, i can't say anything to help you, but for your mom, if it becomes cancerous i read that drinking human urin gets rid of it.... i know nasty, but human urin is actually filled with all kinds of antioxidants that the body creates itself...... if you don't trust me look it up on the internet i found it at herbalremedyinfo.com

Hi,
First don't panic.
Others have been diagnosed with a brain tumor and have somehow survived.

My daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June 1998 when she was 12. It was not benign. She's 22 now.

What type of brain tumor is it, where is it located in her brain, and what treatments have they proposed todate? How old is she and how old are you?

Have you heard about David Bailey and his music? Read his stoey and listen to his music. He was diagnosed with a GBM brain tumor (grade IV cancer) and given less than 6 months to live. He quit his job and started singing.

That was 11 years ago. He's still singing.

Have faith. Miracles can and do occur.

With kind and gentle regards,
