I know that they are building a kidney institute in Cleveland, Ohio where they are developing the artificial kidney, should be complete by the end of this year.... hopefully... as to when it comes out, I'm not sure.
What the guy said below is not true.... my bf is on dialysis so he's done a lot and I mean a lot of research within the 18 years he's been on it... They ARE coming out with one... it's just like the artificial kidney they use on the machine only a lot smaller.
It is currently not feasible. It is huge and impractical. It is called a "dialysis machine".

No artificial but they have made them in the lab from mice that work, from stem cells, I have a very good feeling one day soon you will simply take a pill the old ones will denigrate and new ones will be grown. Amazing what they can do.
