Which over the counter medicine works best for seasonal allergies?!

Question: Sudafed works really good for me, specially when I can't breathe. If you want to but it, you have to sign your name with the pharmacist because the police wants to record who is buying this medication. (FYI)

I like the OTC zyrtec.

allegra

Clariton because it works and does not make me sleepy.

I have pretty bad allergies and the only allergy medicine that has worked for me is Reactine allergy and sinus, which is the same as Zyrtec in the US. I live in Canada so they dont have Zyrtec in here, but I've tried them all from Aerius to nasal spray stuff.

Eat some locally produced raw honey, or local bee pollen.
I tried all kinds of normal, pharmacy-bought remedies last year, and all to no avail. Ditto for my son. Once we both started eating local raw honey, we were completely fine, once again. Good luck, feel better!

I would use Allegra, or Claritin (loratidine), or Reactine (Cetirizine). All these three are second generation antihistamine and thus would be NON-sedative and also help with your seasonal allergy symptoms. Also, you might want to take these medication three or four days before because it takes time for the medication to actually work...

Because I have allergies 3 seasons out of the year and experience side affects from any kind of over-the-counter meds I have turned to an alternative liquid nutritional that has eliminated ALL of my allergy symptoms. For this to work, however, you will need to drink this on a very regular basis.
The product is called Original Limu. Not sure how it works ... but it works for me!

1/2 a Benedryl tablet every 4 hours.

I just like those store brand allergy pills, they are pink and they work really well if you are having serious allergies. If it's not serious, take only 1/2 of one!

I use Claritan, and for really bad problems, Clariten D

i have almost tried all kinds of allergy medicines that are over the counter or just on the shelves. but than my friend told me that a room air purifier may help. i bought one that got rid of pretty much everything i was allergic too and it also go rid of mold, ragweed, and more! it helped so much than i barely use medicines anymore. i still use some when i really need a boost but overall an air purifier is the !!BEST!!

They all suck. I may be cynical because I've been taking them for so long though. I've built up a resistance to pretty much every kind of allergy pill out there. I now usually take one Reactine in the morning and then I take two Benadryl every two hours. Then I take another Reactine before bed. I also use Claritin nose spray on my really bad days.

I'm a special case though, 'cause my allergies are super bad. I've just started using a neti pot so we'll see how that goes this spring!

OTC Claritan, Zyrtec, Benadryl...
Whatever they sell for allergies
