ITP and Rituximab IV?!
Question: okay so on february 7 i was diagnosed with itp. ( ideopathic thrombocytopenic pupura or immune ) however my white blood cells dropped also so they're thinking its more maybe another auto immune disease. they want to start me on this IV drug once a week for a month called Rituximab or Rituxan. I was reading some things and it said there are fatal side effects. I was wondering if there is like a support group or someone I could talk to about this drug and how it effected them...:D im pre nervous about starting it but have not yet due to the fact that I went to another hospital to get a 2nd opinion and am not going back until April 4. they said they wanna run another bone marrow aspiration to see if my cells are still good and producing..I really wanna get better but however in the long run i don't wanna die to soon! I just need help with this...=/

I have a relative currently undergoing Ritoxin therapy.
He is doing exceedingly well and suffers NO side
effects from the infusions.
The infusions are CLOSELY MONITORED by his
Hematologists and Nurses.
Please talk to your Oncologist about your concerns.
