Anyone Else had this Flu/cold???!
Question: Has anyone else had this cold/flu bug thats going round just now, I woke up yesterday feeling crap with the usual blocked and runny nose, now today its still the same, but my body aches, i have a cough and feel like ive been run over by a steam roller and my throat hurts. How long can I expect it to last??

Lot of it about - lasts for 5 - 7 days
Drink lots of fluids - Paracetomol to ease the symptoms - thats all you can do.
I had it a while back and it lasted three weeks.
are you my son?that's exactly what he's been complaining of too.he's been taking beecham's for flu for his and i reckon it might last btw 4 and 6 days.get well soon.
had it last week but OK now thank goodness it last about 3 days then takes another 3 days before completely gone good luck keep warm
I don't know if you have been to the Dr. yet, but I think you should go. I wouldn't want you to get an infection and then feel even worse. Strep throat is even worse. GO to the Dr. and get well soon.
This year's flu for me, the fever lasted 5 days, 2 of which it was over 102 and the third day it was still over 101. My cough wasn't as bad as the sinus blockage and the fatigue. Also, I literally had no appetite for a week.
So, prepare for at least a week of misery when you have the flu....
I had it three weeks ago with a 102 fever. You don't want to hear this, but it lasted for 8-10 days. I also had fluid in my ears, but it was 99.9% I had the flu. Rest and drink water and juice and eat soup!
hell yeah, it knocked out my entire family for 3 days - even the members who 'never' get ill -and even 2 weeks later some of us are still coughing. It put my poor mum in hospital (she has smokers lungs and just couldn't deal with it)
It just goes to show you how nasty the flu is. No wonder the govt views the threat of a flu pandemic as catastrophic.
Official advice says that the flu usually lasts 3-6 days. Everyone has different ways to self-treat. I personally stay in bed 2 days, and take co-codamol and nothing else.
They say that once you've had a particular sort of flu, you don't ever get it again but because the flu virus is always mutating that's not much of a reassurance.
