What could this be...?!

Question: I've been having stomach gas/pressure/cramps off and on for years and if I take a product like Gas-X at the onset of the symptoms it goes away, it's really not fun to deal with. What could this be?

Medical conditions can be a great many things. You could suffer from gastro-intestinal problems due to diet or lack there of.
Be careful what you eat, how much and when. I started grazing instead of packing on heavy meals. Having something on your stomach on regular intervals helps keep the stomach acid to a dull roar.
If a simple change of diet and eating habits does not effect it in short order, take care and see your Dr.

indigestion, Chronic G-I disturbances are usually caused by stress.

It sounds like indigestion, or similar. Maybe if you keep a diary of what you eat and when you feel gaseous, perhaps you can see a link between a particular food or food group and your discomfort. If this is the case, perhaps you have an intolerance to something you eat, such as lactose (milk, cheese etc) or wheat products? A trip to a specialist may be of use :)

Could just be poor digestion or too little good flora in your intestines. You want to be careful of any product that reduces the amount of acid in your stomach. Contrary to what the prescription makers would have you believe, stomach acid is your friend. You want to make sure it is working right and that your intestines are in good shape; they are where your nutrition absorption happens.
