Yeah, I'd just keep taking the antibiotics, but if you're really concerned about the swelling you could probably just call your doctor tomorrow and ask if its normal. I was thinking that maybe it would be swelling b/c the antibiotic is fighting the bacteria and it's filling up with more dead cells and such. Maybe? I'll keep looking around for answers.

Edit: The swelling might be the reason it doesn't hurt anymore - The increased size might have just relieved some of the pressure inside.

You continue to take your antibiotics until the prescription is completely gone.

Continue your medication faithfully. The bacteria in abcesses can become immune to overuse of antibiotics.
1. Rest
2. Take a clean white face cloth/small hand towel and make a warm compress(as hot as you can stand) lay it on the area and it should come to a head (discharge the infection )
3. Use table salt on the warm compress to help draw out the infection(ONLY IF THERE IS NO OPEN AREAS OTHERWISE IT WILL BURN!)
You can also soak in the tub (wash it back out with bleach)
4 Keep it covered with a gauze because you'll never know when it will burst. The pus is contagious and will cause another abcess if in contact with another area,
5. Keep hands clean, don't share towels, bar soap, etc (that's gross anyway!)
6. Try to lay off sweets, until you know what's causing them
7. If it doesn't open , get's bigger , red or more painful after all these things ,go to your Dr asap to get it drained. The bacteria inside is confined to the area ,so you want to get it out your body asap.
8. If you keep geeting them ,get tested for diabetes, and whatever your Dr suggests

Hope this helped!
