I am turning 40 in about 8 months is this normal to have brown....?!

Question: I have had a brown spot for at least a year now on my upper lip, I asked our family nurse about it and she said there is nothing I can do just a skin pigmentation, now I have a what I consider large maybe 1/2 inch round brown spot onmy have with like small triangles going out of them surrounded by a acouple of smaller brown spots, should I be concerned? I don't eat many veggies just fruit and I take multi vitamins every now and then any ideas? they don't itch or hurt and I do have eczema in stressful or hot situations/climates. I am thinking of going to the doctor but sometimes they just don't know much or brush it off as not serious.

I had brown discolorations on my skin from in my 30's til my upper 40's. It was, at that time, called the "mask of pregnancy". I just kept using sunscreen especially in those areas. Most of it has disappeared but I do have to keep using sunscreen on my face or I get darker patches. I believe it is pretty typical but if you are worrying about it then ask your doctor the next time your there.

normalll just age spots

I would go to the skin doctor and see what he says. Get a 2nd opinion

You may as well get used to it. People get all sorts of pigmented spots as they age, and it usually starts around 40. Very dark spots (closer to black than brown) and irregular, raised spots are ones to watch for skin cancer. If wouldn't hurt to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to get screened for skin cancer. One benefit - if they find any suspicious moles or bumps that needed to be removed, they may also get rid of a few moles or bumps that are merely cosmetic (if you ask), without any additional charge.
