Hi,
I've helped care for a number of patients who required radio-freq. ablation. I did cardiology for six years. The procedure is safe, & similar to an angiography (catheter inserted @groin/thigh). You'll be made comfortable during this. The patients I dealt w/all had good outcomes. Two did have to go back for a second attempt. It's very safe. I understand that this frightens you. If you read a bit about it on the Net. The knowledge will ease your anxiety. Good Luck.

"The most common procedure used to interrupt the abnormal pathway is radiofrequency or catheter ablation. In this, a flexible tube called a catheter is guided to the place where the problem exists. Then that tissue is destroyed with radiofrequency energy, stopping the electrical pathway. Successful ablation ends the need for medication."

You should always keep in mind that whatever actions you do today can either help to prevent, delay or minimize the effect of heart disease or worsen it. The key is to control risk factors.
