What does this blood sugar level mean... ?!

Question: I have recently been diagosed with PCOS... that includes insulin resistance and I have high triglycerides.
Anyway, I have been feeling faint and had some dizzy spells, even not making much sense when I am talking.. I am also feeling SO anxious..
I just used one of those strip things and my level read 76---
I ate about 10 cheese its about a half hour ago.
Wondering what is normal?

Thank You....

Our dietitian wants my husbands blood glucose to run between 60 - 120, but he seems to get shaky at about 75. Each person is different. If you are feeling dizzy, it could be that your body needs to be above 76, or your body is adjusting.

The cheezits you ate was not enough to raise it very much. I would be careful not to over eat either, this could cause you to have high blood sugar. I try to eat an apple or something like that when I get shaky, which works good for me.

Those are symptoms of your sugar getting too low. Drink some juice normal sugar readings are below 100 but I know people who start feeling symptoms at 76. Drink juice, you will see how better you feel. Cheese is protein, therefore, it won't help for sugar to go up. Just don't drink too much juice, that your sugar will go sky high. Feel better..

hmeshow,
Two types of hypoglycemia can occur in people who do not have diabetes: reactive (postprandial, or after meals) and fasting (postabsorptive). Reactive hypoglycemia is not usually related to any underlying disease; fasting hypoglycemia often is. Symptoms of both types resemble the symptoms that people with diabetes and hypoglycemia experience: hunger, nervousness, perspiration, shakiness, dizziness, light-headedness, sleepiness, confusion, difficulty speaking, and feeling anxious or weak. If you are diagnosed with hypoglycemia, your doctor will try to find the cause by using laboratory tests to measure blood glucose, insulin, and other chemicals that play a part in the body's use of energy. In reactive hypoglycemia, symptoms appear within 4 hours after you eat a meal. A personal blood glucose monitor cannot be used to diagnose reactive hypoglycaemia, only a doctor may be able to do this by taking your blood at the time you are experiencing symptoms, and send it for examination to a laboratory. Normal glucose levels fall between 70 and 150 mg. Levels typically are lower in the morning, and rise after meals. Blood sugar levels falling consistently above 150 are indicative of hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar. Chronic low levels, falling below 70, characterize hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia is a potentially fatal condition. Symptoms of this condition are lethargy, impaired mental functioning, irritability and loss of consciousness. Persistent hyperglycemia results in diabetes mellitus, which is the most common disease related to blood sugar regulation failure. Diabetes can cause eye, kidney and nerve damage. You are diagnosed insulin resistant and you don't know the signs of low blood sugar??? You need to go back to the doctor and have him talk to you, or get a diabetes educator. Are you on any meds?? You should not eat Cheezits if you have high triglycerides, too much fat. Please make an appointment with your doctor and have a good talk with him

You've gotten some good advice from those up there.
When you sugar drops, you body isn't use to it.
Mines dropped to 60 once. My sugar is normally high.
When my doctor gave me pills to lower it. The doctor said
that my body had to get use to be normal???? go figure
anyway, I top taking the pills so that I can function.
I watch my diet now. I'm only type 1, so I can do this.
I don't wan to be to type2......they say it is worst.

And lost of water....our body is going to crave it anyway.

I think normal is 80 or 90. Drink some orange juice or eat a peppermint or both, then retest it. see if it goes up.I miss hearing from you.How are the kids?Blessings of Healing/Corrections......Blessings Yahoo

Beyounce

You had better read up on type1 and type2 diabetes and check which is worst.

that is very good it shood stay in the ranges of 70 to 110

You really need to see an endocrinologist and learn about your insulin resistance. It can turn to diabetes.
You need to know what to eat when and what meds to take.
76 is a low sugar. You need food with carbs right away.
The ADA stands on 15 grams of carbs but I differ.
Drink some milk and check your sugar again in about half an hour.

Beyounc- You don't change the type of diabetes you have.Neither type is "worse." Both are very serious. People with type 1 MUST take insulin every day or they will die.

Type 2- may just use diet and carb counting , exercise to keep their sugars in line. many of us end up needing insulin and/or oral meds
