Extreme pain in the very lower left chest? Just had the flu, is it related?!

Question: I have a really terrible pain in my lower left chest, just down there under my breast right where the ribs end.

Hurts to breathe, move, move my left arm (and i'm left handed @_@), hitting the bumps in my truck knocks out my breath, laying down flat makes it feel like my lung is being stabbed down there.... School starts back tomorrow, and just moving slightly is killing me, I don't think I can handle walking around that giant building going up and down the stairs every class period (first class is up, next is down, then up, then down, then across the building, then up, then down again @_@) And if I can't move my dominate arm without serious pain, I don't know what I'll do.

The end of the week before last, I started coughing that evil cough of mine, and I started to get weak from it, so I thought it was the really evil sinus infection I tend to get at this time of year, but I went to the doctor and found out I had the flu, which I've never had before. Is this related? Am I sick AGAIN?

There was a strain of influenza going around this season that had a second wind of pneumonia. Your lungs are probably very sore from having the flu. Yes, it's probably related, call the doc if you don't get better soon. You really need to rest and drink a lot of fluids, take a multi vitamin and some vitamin C, zinc, etc. Stay warm and don't let the cold wind go down your throat. Wear a scarf around your throat.

Get yourself back to your doctor.
