Acne???!!!?!

Question: I was wondering if anyone had any good tips on getting rid of acne fast. I know there is no cure. But what works for you? I am trying proactiv right now. It seems to make my skin dry.

Would you like to know the best thing that works for me? Trust me this magical cure is a sure fire way: seawater and a little sun.

Spend a few days in a row in salt water (perhaps at the beach, or maybe a saltwater wash would help?) I've had acne for years and since I've been surfing and getting a bit of sun (not too much!) it really clears up.

Unfortunatley this option may not be practical for you (I live on East Coast Australia, and I don't work during the day and it's still warm here).

Also perhaps and oral antibacterial may help (i got a perscription today because I can't spend my whole life at the beach). You will need to see a doctor and while you're there see if you can get a referral to a dermatologist if you're desperate!

If you do decide to take an anti-acne oral antibacterial (such as Doxycycline Hydrochloride) make sure you also buy a Triclosan containing face wash to kill bacteria on the outer skin. The tablets can also make your skin photosensitive to the sun.

Hope this has helped in some way! Good Luck!

I use clearsil i have used Proactiv in the past and let me tell u it DOESN'T work! Yes it does make your skin very dry and it doesnt even work. Use clearsil I love it and it works really well.

I've had acne for years and nothing I have done (till recently) has helped much. I just discovered Tea Tree Oil. I know the thought of putting oil on your blemishes is probably the last thing you think you should do but believe me this stuff is incredible! It goes on like oil but wait about ten minutes and when you touch where you've put it it will not feel oily AT ALL!You can get it at any Walmart in the pharmacy section. This will make your face dry also but using it sparingly and only on the blemishes after you get out of the shower and only say twice or three times a week will lessen the dryness. I have also used an exfoliant (did i spell that rite?) for a while now about once a week and with the use of the TToil I'm happy to announce that not only does it work fast I can actually say I look better but most of all I FEEL better about myself. I hope this helps ! Oh buy the way I would suggest using a moisturizer also on a daily basis such as Aveeno for acne and cut this in half or 3/4 with distilled water. You won't dry out as bad and cutting it with water lessons the probability of creating more blemishes. P.S. don't forget to drink lots of water its good for the skin
