Question: My boyfriend is in the hospital.He now has VRE. Can we have intercourse,oral sex on either of us and kissing with mouth open? I am hoping he gets to come home in a month or two.I want to be careful. Please help.

VRE is vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus. It's a drug-resistant infection (a "superbug" if you will). He'll be hospitalized until he can kick the infection (with a more sophisticated regimen of antibiotics)
When he comes home, assuming he has no other underlying health conditions that would make him really fragile, it should be okay to continue a sexual relationship with him.
you should be asking his doctor.
I don't even know what "VRE" is much less whether or not you should be kissing or having sex. Next time you visit him at the hospital then as one of the doctors or nurses that come in his room. Good Luck!!!
