Why is a cough associated with cancer ?!

Question: and would that be in the upper respiratory part or could it be anywhere in the body? I am just asking this as a hypothetical question.

Answers: and would that be in the upper respiratory part or could it be anywhere in the body? I am just asking this as a hypothetical question.

Cough is assossciated primarily with cancers of upper &/ or lower respiratory tracts. Cancer in other parts of body can cause cough if their secondries reach the respiratory tracts. At times, cancer is located in some other part of body but the respiratory tract gets infected because of lowering of body resistance mechanism, resulting in cough.

I would think it's due to the fact that, if one has cancer at whatever stage, the immune system will be weaken. Perhaps, this in turn, exposes the individual to infections from which the body's defense mechanism is displayed by the act of coughing.

cough is not only disease that associated with cancer, there are other major diseases are also associated with it.

it is very rare that a cough is a sign of any sort of cancer including lung cancer
