How urgent is it to get care for suspected genital herpes?!

Question: My (now ex-) boyfriend cheated on me last month but I only found out about it a week and a half ago, after I had had sex with him again. My genital area is now itchy, red, somewhat painful, and has large bits of white skin peeling off.
He went to get tested today and they told him his results would be back in 2 weeks. I have a feeling I may have contracted genital herpes, but I want to wait to get checked out to see if he has it since I have a pretty busy schedule (and it's expensive to get tested). Is there anything I can do while we wait for his results or do I need to get to Planned Parenthood ASAP?

Also, we did use a condom. The reddish parts are up near the top in the area surrounding the flappy things near the clitoris.

You need to go ASAP! Please DO NOT wait on his results, as if he does have something... it's likely you do too... and it will have been progressing for the 2 weeks you were waiting. Please take your health seriously.... this sounds like it could be a variety of infections/diseases. Do not take any chances. There are free testing centers all throughout the country. Please check out this site to find a center near you.

Go to Planned Parenthood ASAP ( and while you're there, have them enlighten you with the proper terms for your body parts.) :P

go to Planned Parenthood ASAP!! they need to actually see what's going on in order to get a proper diagnosis of what you may have.

DO NOT WAIT!! if you wait and go after the condition clears up they won't be able to properly tell you what the problem is and they will only tell you "come back when you notice the symptoms again so we can take a culture and run a test".

GO TODAY!!

i would go asap.
it they can see they can tell you what it is .
it is harder to describe something that it is to just see it.
good luck and God bless.

it may be nothing. just raw.
but go now. to see.

First off it's not exspensive...it is free if you go to your county's health clinic. I wouldnt wait two weeks I would go now. Because when you go and get tested it will take two weeks for your results as well. Plus if my vagina was red itchy and their was white pieces of skin falling off I would go right this second to get it checked out. the longer you wait the worse it can get. good luck
