Is there cats and dogs that are easier for people with allergies?!

Question: My wife and I really want to adopt a pet or two. The problem is that she has allergies and get rashes and other reactions from contact with animals. Is there certain types of cats and dogs that are easier to cope with for people with allergies??

forget the cat. As far as dogs go, there are really cute and loving types for your home. I used to raise tiny teacup poodles, and I loved them so much! I have COPD, terrible asthma, big time allergies. These dogs do not have dander, so I did not get sick with them at all. They are just, 'the answer' as far as I am concerned. Good luck!

anything that has hair and not fur. A dog with hair is a German short-haired pointer.... we have one... very pretty animals

If she's allergic to fur you can get a hairless cat though you would have to keep them pretty warm with sweaters and such because they get cold very easily. Basically anything with no hair that can be matted down and carry around all of the fleas and other materials.

Poodles have 'fur' that's more like the composition of our own hair rather than that of other dogs' fur...they're considered non-allergenic.

we have a cockapoo, a cross between a poodle and a cockerspaniel, just great as a house pet as my husband has 40 allergies, she doesn't bother him at all.
