Sinus infection symptoms?!

Question: I am 25 and had a head cold about 3 weeks ago. Since then I have had a headache and now now my eyes are swollen and tender to the touch! I dont have much of a discharge out of my nose anymore other than the odd clear discharge......I have a pounding headache and my jaw really hurts, could this be a sinus infection even if I dont feel the effects of a cold?

Can it be treated with a nasal spray?

The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

That sounds like a sinus infection. Sometimes you can have them for months and not have any symptoms except a headache. The only way to treat it is with anti biotics. The good thing is you probably won't have to take them longer than a week and they are pretty cheap.

Sinus infections can have varied effects - some of them quite uncomfortable - headache; neck ache; dizziness; breathlessness; sore throat; mucus; etc.
Anti-biotics may help, but often don't. The nasal sprays may work by opening the sinus passages in the nose to allow the sinuses to drain. Drinking a lot of water often helps, as well as steam inhalation.

I wouldn't advise antibiotics unless you have exhausted all your OTC options. The overuse of antibiotics is why we have MRSA all over the place now. I would suggest trying oxymetzoline 0.05% (can't remember the OTC name for it, its a nasal spray) and AYR to help combat the dryness oxymetazoline can cause. Also take OTC entex. I would try this mix for about 5 days before you go to the doc for a antibiotic. This works for about 80% of soldiers I prescribe this combo for ranging from sinusitis to URI. In some situations an antibiotic is needed but this practice is now highly discouraged.

only a doctor can tell you if it is a true sinus infection...however your symptoms sound like you may be possessed by satan....the headache may be a very powerful demon who can only be defeated by a very SPECIAL type of nasal spray....i've seen it in new orleans and in haiti and its quite expensive.
