With PCOD, one of the symptoms is diabetes-like signs: weight gain/loss, spikes in blood sugar. The way you describe it sounds like a classic "diabetes body": extra weight around the middle with slender arms/legs. I have diabetes, I'm the same way. If you find yourself always thirsty, peeing alot, having flu-like symptoms, have your dr take a fasting A1C test to check for diabetes. It could be the PCOD, but check with ur doctor to be sure.
It is more commonly the other way around, overweight people are more likely to suffer from Polycystic ovaries. So no, I do not think this is the reason.
I was just reading about this syndrome and it did say that obesity or weight gain could be a symptom. Especially fat gain in the abdomen or thighs.
