Answers: a site or the answer would be great thanks!

The lungs inflate because we pull down with our diaphagms, the inercostal muscles push out causing the chest and lungs to expand creating a vacum like scenario and the air around at a higher barometric pressure actually flows into our lungs. The largest amount of air that you can inhale then exhale completely is called you Vital Capacity. When your breathing normally the volume of air your moving is called your Tidal Volume. When you blow out from a resting level, that is, at the end of a normal breath, that extra amount of air is called your expiratory reserve volume. And finally, again from a resting level, the largest amount of air you can inhale from a resting level is your inspiratory capacity.
