An STD will not delay your period. Statistically the commonest reason for a woman of child bearing age missing a period is pregnancy and it is therefore important to exclude this. Provided you are able to do this, if you are concerned that there is an STD risk, a GUM clinic is more appropriate than your GP. Most GPs will send you there for a complete check anyway.

Just tell the receptionist that you need to see the doctor.

If they ask what is wrong, tell them you would rather tell the doctor when you see him.

You don't have to say anything when booking the appointment.

The people at your doctor's office are professionals, just call and tell them that you want to come in and want to be tested for pregnancy and for STD's. They may ask you which ones, so they can to the right test, usually blood work will take car of most of the STD's.

Good Luck.

Call 0800 28 29 30 its free and Its the sex line, They will know exactly what to do and can help you find you're nearest health clinic. The call is also confidential so they won't have a clue who you are and where you live. Give it a try. Goodluck

jus go

go to your doctor, he/she could order tests for you could it be you might be low on iron or thyroid condition. another could be that you are stressed about something, are you in school if you are it is exam times.

if you're nervous about going to your doctor, go to a clinic like planned parenthood instead. just call and say you are worried about STIs or maybe pregnancy. that's their focus, so it should be a bit less akward.

university health centers also offer testing for pregnancy and STIs, ussually at low cost.

Call a gyno's office and just tell them you want an appointment for an annual visit. They will set you up an appointment. You will get a pap smear, pregnancy test, tested for STD's, the works. And during your visit you can ask the doctor whatever questions you may have. Usually they will ask you when you last menstral cycle was anyway. And when you tell them its been 2 or months, they can take care of the issue then.

Why don't you think you are pregnant? Have you gotten a grocery store test?
You can be pregnant AND have an STI if you had sex without a condom even once.
Don't be stupid. Call the free clinic if you have one nearby. Maybe the school could help you find one.

Get a phone book, look up clinics etc.
Tell them you want to see a Dr.
No need to discuss details over the phone.
Its free and 100% confidential in most countries.
The clock really is ticking on this.
It WONT go away by itself.
