Is sugar and corn syrup bad for you?!

Question: Yes, because it contains a lot of sugar.

Answers: Yes, because it contains a lot of sugar.

Most things are bad for you if you have too much of them.

I think most people today get far too much sugar, a lot of it in the form of corn syrup. A lot of processed foods especially are loaded down with it.

I think you should try to avoid it as much as possible, simply because it is so ubiquitous. For example I think you should avoid eating processed food whenever you can, in part for that reason.

In general these are not good for health even through one is in good health. If these items are avoided in young age ,one can guard against certain deceases in old age.

In general, I like to say "everything in moderation". But I veer off that when referring to processed foods, HFCS (corn syrup), and trans fats. These man-made "foods" have been linked to inflammation, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity.

While I think sugar in moderation is OK for the average person, that means a sprinkle on your fruit, not a 2L of soda daily.

In my opinion, high fructose corn syrup is ONLY "good" for a Type 1 diabetic having a severe hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) attack. That stuff will jack your blood sugar right up fast.

For the population at large, I do not think HFCS and large amounts of sugar should be a mainstay in anyone's diet. It's fine if people want the choice to drink soda, but they have to realize that HFCS is in almost *every* processed food. And most people are consuming large amounts that are contributing to lifestyle related diseases, even in young people.

People have to stop eating processed foods and start eating fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, and good fats.

If you're thirsty, drink water. Your body will thank you.

I do think HFCS (in anything other than tiny amounts) is bad for you. And there are many studies that support that idea.

Diabetes was virtually unknown before refined sugar was shoved down the throats of the population in the past 100 years.
Is corn syrup and sugar bad for you? IT'S DEADLY and your doctors should be telling you that.
Type 2 can be controlled by diet only now.

Yes in large amounts. And if you are diabetic they are really bad for you. Corn syrup IS sugar

Yes.

In tiny amounts no. In large amounts yes. They cause a spike in insulin, lead to weight gain, can cause tooth decay, and in severe cases lead to type 2 diabetes.
