It is definitely good for the skin, makes it smooth and supple but I don't think it is too good to apply it on an acne-prone skin and it cannot fade acne scars. For fading blemishes and scars, try some of these homemade facepacks and see if they work for you:

I spent years trying to beat my spots and stuff when I was in my teens, but I soon regretted it, because through the desperation for a clearer skin, I instead made my problems worse by damaging the skin and leaving it weaker, and thus, more vulnerable.

Think about it. Your skin is a barrier protecting you against all those invaders from outside. If you go washing it with really hot water, hoping that you'll beat the spots, then you're wrong. You're just going to damage the skin and lose out to those external invaders thanks to weaker skin. Accept that your spots are caused by hormones, and adjust your diet - less sugars etc. The damage from internal reasons is unavoidable if it's from the hormones, so you must accept it. All you can do is avoid damaging the skin, and as a result, you'll lessen the chance of scarring it and leaving it more vulnerable to invaders - which will cause boils and terrible puss spots.

When washing, try a gentle foaming face wash with Witch Hazel in it. Don't be hungry for quick results, so don't dispense so much that it covers your face like shaving foam! Do this, once with your shower, then, if you need it, moisturise with E45 lotion. I find the light body milk one very useful. This will prevent cracking and soreness, and won't clog you up. You'll look much fresher, cleaner, and your skin will breath good. Remember, don't use too much. Don't use so much you shine horribly, or you'll just clog up again, thus need another wash.

Take it easy, wash calmly once in the shower (don't care about night as a full day to recover from the abrasion of washing is necessary for the skin), then let your body heal the skin.

A strong barrier is one's only chance. So forget the image problem, as it's made much worse in the process with desperate efforts.

Good luck.
