There are some really rude answers here......

Diabetes is primarily a metabolic disorder involving the pancreas and comes in several different types.

Type I Diabetes (also Juvenile Diabetes) happens when the Islet Cells in the pancreas no longer produce the hormone insulin. This type always requires insulin shots or an insulin pump.

Type II Diabetes (also Adult Onset Diabetes) happens when the body is not able to use the insulin produced by the pancreas or there is not quite enough produced. There are many different reasons to get this type of Diabetes (which is the most common type) including obesity, pancreatitis, genetics, etc. This type of diabetes often requires the patient to take insulin shots and almost always requires some type of oral antidiabetic medication (Actos, Glucophage, Glyburide, etc). It can also sometimes be controlled with diet and exercise.

Gestational Diabetes happens during pregnancy and often resolves when the baby is delivered but can be a warning of long term diabetes in the future.

Diabetes Insipidus happens often after a traumatic head injury, stroke, brain surgery or as a result of a brain tumor. A hormone produced in the brain called ADH is under produced and causes excessive urination. The treatment for this is a medication called DDAVP.

All types of diabetes are controllable with diet, exercise, and strict adherance to medication regimen. They can all lead to complications such as kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, retinopathy, amputations, dialysis, blindness and death.

I hope this helps. By the way, "Sugar Diabetes" is an old term and is still widely used here by the patients that I take care of all the time.......

There is no such thing.

There is type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. If you need detailed info, go to webmd.com or childrenwithdiabetes.com

The medical term is diabetes mellitus (mellitus means sweet- referring to sugar) although it is commonly known just as diabetes.
There is way too much info on this topic to go through here so I will link you to a great resource site.

Sugar diabetes is the same as regular diabetes. It is when your pancreas can not make enough or no insulin to take care of any sugars in your body. Type1 sometimes called juvenile is insulin dependent, we take shots everyday because our pancreas does not make any insulin for itself. Type2 is also known as adult onset usually this involves oral medication and somrtimes insulin shots because the pancreas is not making enough insulin. There is also gestational diabetes. This is when a pregnant woman becomes diabetic sometimes this only lasts during her pregnancybut it can be permenant.someties Type2 and gestational and be controlled by diet and exercise alone other times it needs meds. Diet and exercise is a main key for any type of diabetes.I hope this helps.Good luck.

Sugar Diabetes? No such thing. There's only a Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. o___O
