Can you catch M.E.?!

Question: My 14 year old daughter's boyfriend (aged 15) has recently been diagnosed with M.E. (a mild form). I have looked at lots of online resources but cannot find out whether this is contagious. Any information much appreciated.

M.E is not contagious at all! However sometimes M.E can develop as a result of glandular fever which is catching and sometimes called 'the kissing disease'.
Find out if he knows what virus caused the M.E (a lot of people do not know).
Even if he did have glandular fever, that can be long gone and no longer contagious whilst the M.E hangs around for much longer.
But no, M.E is not contagious!

Have a look at http://www.ayme.org.uk/ to find out more. People with M.E need alot of support from friends and family.
