I'm so scared about my blood test results coming back!?!

Question: I got tested on Monday for HIV, HSV 1 & 2, and all the other STD's that you test for using blood and urine. I Slept around alot unprotected prior to July of 2007, thats when I got into a serious relationship. We both got tested in August, and we were both clear, I also got retested in October, still clear. I just got tested again, 5 months later. He's still clear, and I haven't slept around. Should I be in the clear too still?

If you have only been with one person and have tested and then retested with the tests coming back negative. I would say, yes I am sure your tests will come back negative.

I wouldn't think you would have anything, but the only one to really just think about is the HSV 1&2 because that is a silent disease, and can lay dormant. I don't think you would have it and not him, but i have it and my boyfriend doesn't show signs of it and we have been together for almost a year. It is more common in women 1 out of 4 in women and 1 out of 5 in men. But really i think you'll be fine, and even if you do have something it's not the end of the world.

Probably yes. There are couple of test types, the most accurate is antibodies test.
Most people develop detectable HIV antibodies within 6 to 12 weeks of infection. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months. It is exceedingly unlikely that someone would take longer than 6 months to develop antibodies. Other tests show the infection earlier. I dont know which one was done before.

Thus one can be reliably tested for HIV after 6 months from possible infection, however in most cases you would be already detected if had infection. After this test you will know for sure.
