no, just alleviated

No, most people suffer it at some point. However, it can always be helped, sometimes with medication, counselling or just having someone to talk to.

Not cured readily, but stablised.

If you take anti-depressants, this will make you more relaxed and happy. They do have side effects though.

To cure it you can see a phyciatrist, over a period of time, they will help cure it and solve problems, but this may be like a year.
They will give you anti-depressants to make you less depressed.

Yes, so get yourself off to the doctors and stop worrying.

Depression is treated with medication. Symptoms can, and often do, go away. But they can come back. There's nothing that can "cure" depression.

life is a sickness at all, that can`t be cured!-so you are dead ,long enough.-live still at time.

urgh. i hope people dont go on and on about medication and **** in this re chemical imbalance. if its situational, do something about the situation. if you have a crappy diet, fix up your diet. if it fluctuates with your monthly cycle do something with hormones. i think its almost rare to have true clinical genetic depression, and all those ridiculous antidepressants are a load of **** and docs just mess with your head.

it can be helped, usually when you suffer depression it stays with you, you have to get it treated by a doctor before it gets serious.there are different types that is why you must get help good luck and who ever it is a speedy recovery

Cut a long story short but I was dying at one time and now I'm not. Safe to say I am no longer depressed.

NO,
But I sure would like it if a cure for stupid was found. That would be great.

Yes, most definitely. Manic depression, or it's now more commonly used term, "bi-polar" disorder can be difficult to treat effectively. Clinical depression can be treated very effectively using modern psychological therapy combined with medication where necessary. There is no need to be taking medication for years on end, nor for long term therapy, once the diagnosis has been made and treated there is no more likelihood that depression will set in again for the sufferer, any more than in the population in general.

it is treated, not cured. I hate people that say that antidepressants are bad. Have they ever been diagnosed with depression? Probably not. So, they have no clue what it is like to be actually depressed. Depression takes over your life. You know no different. Sometimes antidepressants has to be taken for long periods of time. I have been on it since I was 12. I am now 24 and may very well be on it for the rest of my life. Not because I want to be, but because I need to be. So until you have experienced it, then you have NO right to say taking antidepressants is wrong.

Yes, there is help now days that is available.
First of al starting from your g.p . This can be quiet a long process, but there are specalised hospital consultants as well that will help to get to the root of the depression. And also here are other treatments, you just need to find what is the most suitable, and always to make sure that you are followed up regualry, and make sure you keep all your appointments.
