Can stem cells cure optic nerve atrophy?!
Question: I read an article and got in touch with a company in Hangzhou China that is doing treatments on optic nerve atrophy using stem cell research. Patients notice that there is improvement in sight. That leads me to ask the question, why? If stem cells can cure my vision which is 20/200 corrected in both eyes then why don't they have this in the United States and only in China? Do you think this will help or is this a Chinese scam. Please only serious answers, I have optic nerve atrophy and I am seeking hope.

yes it can. i did a research paper on stem cells a few months back. here in the US stem cell research is mostly geared to drug therapy. for almost any actual stem cell treatments you have to leave the states. Canada is having good luck with stem cells and heart disease.
It is probably a Chinese scam, I'm sorry to say. If they found out how to fix eyes with stem cells, everyone would have heard about it.

If any company claims to have a treatment available right now, then yes it is a scam 100%. If the treatment is a research project, and can be backed by a reputable government control group, then the treatment will be FREE and they will not ask for any type of donation or fee. My gut instinct is that this is a scam. The possibility of a cure for optic nerve atrophy is not entirely impossible and stem cells may potentially be able to increase neuronal regrowth, but if there is any truth to this, I would anticipate a huge media and health care related fuss. Remember, very little regulations in China and false claims are very common. If you do decide to pursue this, then I have some magic beans I'd like to sell you. I guarantee it will make your penis size double and your IQ triple.
