Visitor in home had lice.?!

Question: I just got a phone call that a visitor who was in my home yesterday has lice. She was here for a few hours and was in the living room, dining room, kitchen, and office. I have checked my husband's head and my own. We have no sign of anything. I am very sure I have not gotten anything because I had a hair appointment this morning for color and a cut. If something was there, I am sure my hairdresser would have seen it. I also took all slipcovers and tablecloths off and washed them in hot water. We vaccumed all areas, including the furniture where she had been. I washed the hand towels and rugs from the bathroom that guests use when they are here. I also got all rugs, throw pillows, and our pet beds and bagged them up. I know I should keep things bagged for at least two weeks. Have I done enough to eradicate the lice if they were here? The very thought of it has me itching like crazy. Purely psychological, I am sure. Should I do anything else?

You may also consider getting the RIT shampoo for you and members of your fmaily jsut as a precation if for no other reason then to ease your mind, it will not damage your hair if you only do it once and it is worth it, also I would use flea shmpoo on the pets this usually gts rid of lice on animals as well...good luck! We did the exact same thing when we had a foster child with this problem when they first came to us...it worked and we never got it ourselves!

It takes longer than a day for lice eggs to hatch.

I'm pretty sure everything you did will be fine.
Did the person have head lice or body lice?
If you want, buy some of the lice bedding spray and some of the shampoo as a precautionary. It wouldn't hurt to have it on hand.

I'd start by getting cleaner friends.

O my God...

You crazy

Call was testing for 1st Arpil Fool...

Well I think that you have got it all...Yep looks like you have not missed nothing but to make sure i would also spray the house and all things with cloth!!

Good Luck

It sounds to me like you have done everything you can. I think I would do the hair treatment just to be on the safe side. If one of two lice got on you, it would probably take a week or so for them to lay enough eggs for it to be noticable by examination. I would think. That is what I would do, because if you happened to get it, but did the hair treatment now, you wouldn't be combing knits out of your hair for a whole day or so. My son caught it at school one time, and boy did we have a heck of a time getting rid of it.

You should not react too much. Its Psychological.
Before going to Hairdresser, shampoo with anti-lice.
Or you can ask help from your hairdresser too.
Tell her what you worried of and ask her just check it for your sake.
When she will tell you, you had nothing in your head, you will feel free and easy.
Dont Worry
