Can setting to long cause chest pains?!

Question: Can setting to long at the computer cause chest pains?

Answers: Can setting to long at the computer cause chest pains?

Generally, sitting should not evoke chest pain on it's own. However, it can certainly cause muscle spasms, which can often feel like chest pain. If you are sitting hunched over and typing you are really tightening those muscles, even though you may not realize it.

Back Muscle pain is often confused with chest pain and can be quite painful!

Are there any accompanying symptoms that would suggest that it is a cardiac problem? Difficulty breathing? Numbness? etc... These would be indicators of something going on with your heart.

It could also be a bout of angina, which can occur with little provocation. If you are just feeling generalized pain I wouldn't worry too much for it could be some tight muscles.

Hope this helps!

and if you don't sit up straight, with a slouched back yes, otherwise I don't think so.

no

Sitting in general for over 5 hours can cause thrombosis in 1 out of every 2500 people. Thrombosis is the clotting of blood and it occurs usually in the legs, this clot might then travel into the lungs, initially causing chest pains but then the problems can get a lot worse and even be fatal. But, it's more than likely something else, either a muscular pain from sitting in a slouched position or having your head turned to watch TV at the same time for example, or the air quality in the room you are sat.
