Reacurring lice?!

Question: ok.. my 7 yr old neice has been living with me for the past 2 months. When she first came. She was covered in lice. It took me 3 weeks of constant treatments to FINALLY get rid of it. Noone else in the house got lice. Its been gone for about 5 weeks now. Her parents see her on the weekends and had her all last week for Spring break. The school called me today and said I had to pick her up because she was itching like crazy and they found eggs in her hair. Coincidence? I dont think so. I called her parents and told them that my neice (Karyn) must have gotten it from them because she didnt get it back until after she spent the week with them. They insist that they dont have lice and she either got it from school or she has had it the whole time. I know she didnt have it the whole time, she just got it back again. They said this has been going on since October!. they said it goes away for a few weeks and comes back. I highly doubt that she just keeps getting it from school.

Yep sounds like her parents have it and are ignoring it. They have to treat themselves and everything in the house.
It is possible that there is an outbreak at school, but to me..i think it is at home.

Probably the parents. But call the school nurse to discuss.

In the meantime, throw away & replace her pillow & all bedding. Wash everything in her room in super hot water, including drapery and carpet.

Her parents probably have them in their furniture and don't realize it. They have to treat the couch, the beds, pillows, everything.

Go online and get the cleaning instructions and do them all again. Treat her head. Has the school nurse checked everyone in the class? Lice can jump from head to head so everyone in the school should be checked. I think she shouldn't go home for awhile either.

i think no problem you can try agien
