Bloody poop!?!

Question: I've had the flu for 1 week. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but for the past 3 days I have had problems pooping.
I know I need to poop, but when I'm there I push and nothing comes out. Though it hurts when it comes out, I continue to push until I am done.
I have noticed that for the past 3 days it hurts, and when I wipe myself clean i notice a few streaks of blood.
It's not a lot, but it worries me.

help!
Is it serious? should I worry.
I have not been drinking a lot of water like a should, is that a contribution to it.

First calm down.

Some advice: Stop pushing so hard. Forcing yourself to have a bowel movement will not help.

Go to the store and buy a bottle of water and some over the counter gentle laxatives. Take only the recommended dose and wait a few hours. Everything should come out ok.

Sometimes pushing too hard can break one of those veins on your anus. It always looks like alot of blood when one bleeds from there.

Also, try getting some Zinc Oxide from the store (usually found in the baby section) and put some on your behind. It will sooth any pain and make sitting more comfortable. :-)

If the condition continues for over a week you might want to go and see your family doctor.

PS~ You might want to increase the fiber in your diet to help prevent this. :-)

You need to drink lots and lots of water. If it keeps up, call the doctor to make sure it isn't something more serious.

Sounds like you have irritated the skin by straining and pushing so much. It will heal quickly. Put a lubricant like Vaseline on the skin for protection until it heals.
You didn't eat much, did you? Lack of food is the biggest contribution. It takes food to poop. (-:

Hemorrhoids are little nodules that form around the anus from straining. They can be irritated easily and bleed. It takes time to form those, tho
.
Watch to see when you return to normal, if you are still bleeding. If so, go to a Dr. They have a test to see if you have blood in your stool.
