Firstly, keep a very close eye on that burn because Colgate was not a good solution to a burn, and it most likely let the skin continue burning way longer than if you had used cold water. Check on it twice daily for signs of infection, and follow the advice of putting something like Polysporin and gauze on it. If you can, you may want to see your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

Secondly, I have burned myself pretty well a number of times and the burn always starts off very light but becomes darker when it heals, and somewhere between 6 months and 4 years later [depending on what type and size of burn it was] it completely disappears and my regular skin color completely returns.

brown

look for brown

Wait, were you white or brown to begin with?

Burns usually scar. you can use vitamin E oil to help diminish the scarring.

COLGATE? Why didn't you douse it in ICE COLD WATER to stop the burn process.

COLGATE?

I've never heard such a thing.

You had better watch you don't get BLOOD poisoning. Something that can happen when infection passes from the burn into your bloodstream. I'd go to a doctor if I was you. That is bound to be a bad deep burn.

You should have just put vaseline on it and wrap it up with non stick gauze and don't touch it anymore until it's looked at. Polysporin ointment is good too it will cover the wound and keep bacteria out.

I don't know. maybe you should check with your doctor.

I was burned on both sides of my wrists with a chi flat iron about 3 years ago. I had the same problem with the skin tone and peeling and such...over the course of 6 months or so, it slowly started blending in with the rest of my skin and although I still have scars, they are barely visible...and I mean barely.

If it's more grey than brown, and more paper white than skin white, it's 3rd degree. See a doctor, you need Silvadene.

i burned my wrist once (hit it on the oven getting cookies out lol) and it just turned into a scar. its not really dark just a shade or 2 darker than my skin tone.
