So, does anyone know how the Breathalyzer tests really work....is it from pressu!

Question: Well it would take a little bit to explain but here is the basics. The alcohol in your body can only be processed by the liver. Otherwise it is always circulating in your body. However the lungs expel some back into the air in proportion to the amount still in your blood. The Breathalyzer uses chemicals to separate the alcohol expelled through the tube you breath in to. Internally it has two sides. One is the control side while the other is the test side. The chemicals convert all the alcohol on the test side and like the needle for the fuel gage of a car, it moves an internal needle depending on how much alcohol is broken down on the test side. This is then converted to a digital display giving you the alcohol level in your body. Hope this helps

alcohol can diffuse easily into the lungs, the test consists of sodium dichromate, when you breathe out the alcohol oxidises the chromium from Cr+6 -> Cr+3, and the colour changes from orange to green indicating a positive result for alcohol consumption.
