How do you get rid of ringworm?!

Question: my 6 year old has ringworm on his face. we took him to the doctor and got a prescription. it helped but didn't get rid of it completely. we also tried blue star ointment and that did absolutely nothing but make his face red. any knowledge on this would be helpful.

I don't know what ingredients is in Blue star ointment, but try something with Clotrimazole (Cruex cream, Desenex, or Lotrimin), Miconazole (Monistat-Derm Cream) or Terbinafine (Lamisil Cream)
