I have the same problem and the ENT examined the sinus passages with a bendable scope. After the examination he determined that the cause of the infections was a buildup of mucous caused by a deviated septum.

His recommendation was to correct the deviated septum with surgery...general anaesthesia (unconscious), break the nose bone and shave down the septum so it is straigher, then you wake up with 2 black eyes and you can't breathe through your nose for about 3-5 days because of the swelling, but afterwards you breathe much easier and no more frequent infections.

By the way, you can tell if you have a deviated septum this way...when you go to sleep on your left side, does your left nostril start feeling like it gets plugged up? Then when you turn over on your right side, does it feel like the left side is now clear and the right side is plugged up after a few minutes? If so, then you're experiencing the symptoms of a deviated septum.

He(she) will give you antibiotics and tell you to see your General Practitioner.

THEY WILL PROBABLY PRESCRIBE YOU PSEUDOVENT...IT'S FOR SINUS INFECTIONS. AND TELL YOU TO TAKE ALEVE OR ADVIL.

I don't know the actual proceedure-- but the doc willl probably do some xray/ testing to see if there are any open passages to... something, or any blocked passages from... somewhere.

They might take out your adenoids. My son used to get them every 6 weeks or so and have to be on a antibiotic for a month at a time. You might also want to check to see if you have some kind of allergies that is causing them.
