Yes, it can... I work in an antenna field full of Poison Ivy and
also thorns and thistles. When the thorns and thistles break
the skin near to where the Poison Ivy got me, I end up getting
outbreaks of Poison Ivy on portions of skin which were totally
covered with clothing during my work day in the field. This
has happened to me on several different occasions over the
years here.
