I have ragweed allergies too. And yea they suck big time. but..I take Nasonex when they start acting up and also..you should talk to your doctor about it though. Also, I have Asma..and i think a problem with my asma is the ragweed..and after i use my inhaler..all my ragweed problems seem to disappear until the medicine wears off..so talk to your doctor about an inhaler too!
I have used Beconase for the past ten years for my allergy's and it has worked the best ,its a nasal spray once a day and you do need a prescription.I heard that Zyrtec is really good but so far I haven't used it.

Any anti-histamine, whether over the counter or prescription, is a good place to start. Nasal steroid sprays (from your doctor) can help reduce the stuffiness and runny nose, when taken every day. If you have severe allergies, or are allergic to multiple things, consider immunotherapy. These are the 'allergy shots' you take weekly to gradually make your body get used to the allergen.
YES. I used to have ragweed allergies very badly. I used to be housebound from mid-August until the second week of September. I would wake up a dozen times a night. Allergy desensitation shots work! I was on a series of shots lasting nine years. It took two years before I could tell an improvement and three more years to get the maximum effect. I don't have hayfever in the fall anymore now. It has been six years since I discontinued the shots and I still reap the benefits. In the meantime, before the allergy shots can help, I recommend Nasonex or Beconase AQ. They really help a lot.
