Is fibromyalgia really a disease? Like a REAL disease?!
Question: My aunt claims she has it. She's ALWAYS talking about it. Fibromyalgia this, and fibromyalgia that. She goes to all these support groups, when my mom who had CANCER did not go to ONE support group. And shes always complaining about being in pain everyday, she just complains a LOT. She even has a handicapped sticker. I don't understand why she has one though, because she can walk throughout the mall all day shopping, but my dad can barely walk from the store to the car because of his back (he has a slipped disc) and HE doesn't have a handicapped sticker.
And unless someone can truly prove to me that it is a real disease, I think its just a way for people to complain and get meds.

I should do some research but I'm already leaning toward the idea that it's some made up shite to sell some new drug. Just like "restless leg syndrome".
It is a disease. There are multiple studies that place real onset and real symptoms with it. It is an elusive disease that hasn't been well-understood. Relate it to measles. The doctors from the middle ages thought that was caused by 'bad blood'. They didn't understand the cause then, but discovered it later. Fibromyalgia will be better understood as science advances.
Yes , your shoulders, joints and back along with many other things are in a ton of pain , I have a few fiends that swear by Noni Juice to help them.
