A topical cream with lysine in it would be a good bet. However, if cold sores start to become a re-occuring problem, try supplementing with a Lysine vitamin You would be SURPRISED how much it will help. My girlfriend has been getting 3+ cold sores a week and now gets one every few months. Only changes she has made were taking Lysine, and stopped drinking soda. The Herpes Simplex virus (cold sores) feeds off of the amino acid L-Arginine... most commonly found in SODA, as well as dairy and some meats. Sorry if I got off topic here, but hopefully this will help someone else or maybe you in the future.

There's an "over the counter" medicine I've heard a lot of people brag about. I think it's called Abrevia.

Try using toothpaste and some water on it then rub it into your cold sore. You could also use zovirax, or something like that. It is being advertised on TV. Leave the toothpaste on for about 20 minutes. Its worth the time. Thank you. i hope this helped.

(I also know lots about computers, so if you have any questions you can ask me, like how to change administrators passwords, without being an administrator, help with viruses etc. Lots of things. E-mail - tree_av@yahoo.co.uk)
