Any help with Diverticulitis/diver!
Question: Frequent stomach cramps, gas, constipation, or the opposite. Have had a colonoscopy/barium workup..All they give me is 'Lomotil', and tell me to avoid stress. Any other suggestions on keeping this in check. I am an older male, with otherwise good health. (I take a fiber supplement twice a day also.)

From what you write I am assuming that you have been diagnosed with Diverticulosis which is nothing more than outpocketing in the colon (little pouches). It can cause IBS and that is why they tell you to eat more fiber. Diverticulitis is an infection of the diverticulum (colon) and needs to be treated with antibiotics. But at the same time too much fiber (breads, pastas, etc..) can also make your middle section bloat. I eat alot of fresh fruit and veggies and was told that should be enough. I also exercise regularly ( a brisk walk will help with gas and constipation)
