Are cell phones more dangerous than smoking and asbestos?!

Question: An article in The Independent has a story about new research that indicates brain cancer risk is doubled by using a cell phone ten years or more, making in more dangerous than smoking. More and more studies are showing the same thing over the long term.

Should we all quit using cell phones?

In one case, I don't know, in another IE: I saw a lady trying to make a turn holding a cell to her ear, hold a cigarette in the same hand and, holding a cup of coffee in the other while turning the steering wheel with her elbow and, grabbing it with her knees. She darned near "T" boned me sitting at the intersection. So, there are other ways to die by cell phone.

yes they are dangerous, especially older phones. but i am not sure that they are more dangerous than smoking. maybe you need some fakts to stop answering your phone and keep on smoking in the backyard?

No just minimise their use. Portable home phones are bad to so try to use the old fashioned home phone. As for more dangerous than smoking and asbestos; lol. Asbestos is deadly and smoking is nearly as bad. Don't smoke, stay away from asbestos and use a home phone and you'll live longer.
:)

Well I can tell you this. From what I've heard what cell phones can do they can damage your hearing. What you can do is put a protective pad on the cell phone so that it won't damage your hearing. From the sound of the article it seems pretty scary. I know that in a few countries in fact I think if I was listening to the radio correctly it might of been the E.U. are deciding to ban dangerous chemicals in electronics usage. Like a laptop I'm sure it has dangerous chemicals in there but the reason is because engineers made it that way because certain elements are more effiecient than others. I guess for me I'd have to say it depends where exactly the radiation is coming from. Is it coming from the chemicals? The main way to prevent from this I guess is to not use your cell phone that often or to not even have one.
