Would you date a person if they have genital herpes?!

Question: would you?

Answers: would you?

I would. I have. I would again.
And I have genital herpes as a result.
And you know what? It was worth it.

For a long time, I lived a very sexually free life. I dated lots of guys. I had a lot of sex. I loved it, and wouldn't trade those years for anything. And with that adventure comes risk.

The truth is that if you date at least five people, you've probably already dated someone with genital herpes - they just didn't know or didn't tell you. If you've recieved oral sex from two people, you've already probably put yourself at risk for herpes - you just didn't realize it.

Life is choices. Avoid the adventure - avoid the risk. Or accept the adventure - accept the risk.

The great thing about a person who tells you they have genital herpes is that they TOLD you. So you can actually trust them to work with you to manage that risk.

Great question.

No

They will have the herpes forever. You can protect yourself by using a condom, but honestly, if you stay together long enough, you will get herpes too. It's the gift that keeps on giving. I personally would take the risk.

never would be to scared thinking i would catch it and you never get rid it

nope.

There are controls for herpes now. I would have to really care about the person but, I don't think I would let myself get that involved.

Yes, just because one person has Genital/Oral herpes does not mean anything, sure you will have to be extra cautious and there is chances of spreading the virus even when symptoms are not visible because there's this stage where it's called "shedding" where you can spread the virus but if the person is on anti viral meds it makes it harder to spread the virus. If you and your partner are monogamous and open w/each other, you can have a healthy relationship w/o the risks of spreading the virus.

NNNNNNNNNNoooooooooooooooooo!
Even condoms can not 100% prevent you from getting them, and once you have them they are forever so NO no one is worth dealing with that for the rest of my life not even Brad Pitt.

hell no

If the person and I loved eachother so much that we would protect ourselves and eachother from all harm, even if it meant indefinitely abstaining from sex due to the disease, I'd say yes.

It takes a strong person to abstain from sex, especially with someone you love. And if that person loved me enough to understand and not pressure me into sex because of our fears of me contracting the disease, well...one can only imagine what it would be like to find a love that strong.

Probably not, that would be tough though!

If I really cared for the person YES!!Taking the best precautions possible of course! I thought you could only catch during a outbreak? I know a girl that has it she is 20 she was tested because there are different types had the Gardisil shots and has not had an outbreak since***2 years!!! If you are a female you can get the shots if your not too old which would give you further protection of transmission! Hope this helps!! GL :)

i would only because i have herpes myself. i might feel more comfortable with a person who has them, rather then being treated like a leper by some guy who doesn't understand. no body deserves that.
btw condoms are not effective against herpes even between outbreaks. condoms don't cover all areas where herpes can break out.

I wouldn't date someone with herpes because they will have herpes for life. I wouldn't feel safe having sex with them cause the condom can break and even if they don't have an outbreak, that doesn't mean they can't pass it to you. They're medication helps both of you but it's no guarantee that you would end up with it. If you don't plan on having sex then go for it. Also, what if you get herpes from them and then yall break up? Now you're in the same predicament that they're in. You have to weigh whether you feel it's worth it.
