Asthma, congestion, aches and attacks?!

Question: Have a cold that keeps coming and going - during parts of the day my nose i stuffed but then it gets better. But then it comes back. Earlier this week my chest felt like I had weights on it and had a few coughing fits. But that has seemed to subside. Had a few minor asthma attacks the past week - at least once a day. Yesterday I had one where I was wheezing. My body has felt kind of achy throughout the week. But all of these things are not consistently hitting me at once. They seem to come in waves. For instance, I don't have the chest tightness now, nor am I having an attack but I am a little congested.

Two questions:

1.) Have any asthmatics experienced this? The coming & going of congestion, attacks and aches? Any explanation?

2.) Would it be wise to take a day off of work tomorrow?

If you are having to use your inhaler more than usual &its not helping it sounds like it maybe has progressed into bronchitis.Only going by the way it affects me,but i think it would be wise to get breathing treatment &im sure the docter would give you something for infection.

your body might hurt because you are just not getting enough oxygen. i would go to the doctor tomorrow for a breathing treatment and to be sure nothing else was going on.

the signs you have show that you may have asthma.
asthma attacks are very typical, you always feel chest tightening(as if having weight on the chest).
you also mentioned wheezing, if the wheezing are expiratory (wheezing while breathing out), it most probably is asthma.
finally, you mentioned that you have a mild congestion now,
this will not lead to an acute attack , but asthmatic patients always complain of mild congestion that is present all the time.
asthma is a type of allergy. the allergen that causes asthma can be anything. that is we donot know all the allergens till date. you need to find out your allergen by urself.
mostly the allergens are pollen, dust, or any type of gas.
u must be aware wat caused the attack.
yes , it wud be very wise to take a days off tommorrow, and see you doctor.
hope it helps

DON'T EVER, EVER TAKE AN ASTHMA ATTACK LIGHTLY...IF YOU HAVE ONE PLEASE TRY TO GO AND SEE A DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY AND HAVE A PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS.......PLEASE ASK FOR SOME PRESCRIBED MEDICATION THAT WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU ARE HAVING AN ATTACK...IT IS NOT TO BE TAKING LIGHTLY BECUZ IT IS DANGEROUS...PLS. SEE A DOCTOR ASAP...GOOD LUCK!!
