Contract HIV through kissing??!

Question: okay, years ago they used to say that kissing would not get you aids, but now they say that it does if the person who has aids has ever had oral surgery. just trying to educate people out there who still think you can't possibly get it by kissing, because you can.

thanks

And you can contract it through oral sex for the same reason.

HIV cannot be transmitted through saliva, urine, or tears. The only way to get HIV from kissing would be if the HIV infected person was bleeding in their mouth, and passed this blood into the other person's mouth which also had open cuts. The HIV infected blood has to directly contact a cut or opening to enter the new person's body. Semen, vaginal fluids, blood and breast milk are the only fluids that are known to transmit HIV.

P.S: And it can only be transmitted through oral sex if infected semen, vaginal fluids, or blood entered a cut or wound in the other person's mouth.

Lol, sorry if you don't believe me but then maybe you should speak with my professor who has been studying HIV and AIDS for more than twenty years, and personally knows one of the men involved in the discovery of AIDS and HIV.

Sommer is right. If a person is bleeding in their mouth they can transmit AIDS. And I wouldn't think it would require oral surgery, you can cut your lip on many things, biting it on accident for example.

Aside from AIDS, there is also an increase in throat cancer from HPV from people having oral sex.

To Miss Sommer and Browncat: If you want to take this chance, I guess it's up to you. I don't have to speak to any of your professors Sommer, I am in contact with one of the top medical directers in the country, we work together on many projects.
To say, or assume, it's a safe attitude is giving it a false sense of security. I would rather be wrong then get this terrible disease.

There is still to much to learn about this disease.

i am a college student and we just studied this. you can not catch hiv/aids from kissing. they only way you catch it like this is if the person is bleeding or other body fluids come in contact with an open surface on your body such as scratches or sores.
