Is this really a boil? if so what can i do about it??!
Question: i have never had a boil before..it started about 3 or 4 days ago, on the left side of my chin, it started out red and sore, and it started swelling and oozing out puss(really nasty) i've been cleaning it with the same soap i use for my acne, but trying not to get much soap on it, i've put hot towels on it for like 2 days, and i iced it for a lil while this morning. its gone down some but i'm wondering what i can do at home to get it to go away a little faster, and how i can prevent scaring. [help]!!

Oh man, that is the worst, when you do not know what you have? Have you tried looking on webmd to see if it looks similar to other boils, rashes online? I would tell you to lance it and find out if it's just an ingrown or a black head, not alot of people like picking-Sooo, I will tell you about my ancient mexican secret that I discovered when I had an outbreak of freaky rash! I thought I had acne, then chicken pocks, then I thought it was mites living under my skin! I was tripping, I bought a pink bottle of Calamine lotion (it looks like milk inside) Do not get the clear gel solution. I've tried both and this little pink bottle BELIEVE IT OR NOT! You apply to any bruise, cut, pimple, oily skin, whatever. It turns kinda white, like chalky on your skin but it works. I wear it out all the time. To speed up the process of healing, keep applying every time you feel it drying. Just put a little dot exactly on the area and you will actually see it working before your eyes. It will kind of tighten your skin, then it feels like it is flatened. If you pick or not pick, it does not matter because it will heal fast no matter what. I usually pore a bunch when I have a bad spot then when I wake up in the morning its like it never was there. I recommend it. At first I had alot of friends of mine "especially guys" that do not like to mess with their face or appear like they have make up on, I have a couple of male friends that had zit problems and I put little dots of Calamine on them and the next time they saw me, they did not tell me "Nagh, get that out of my face" As a matter infact, they wanted me to touch up their zit problem areas. Good luck and hope it's not a bug or other skin problem? Buy the Calamine, its only a buck and a half and IT WORKS. Believe in the Calamine, it will not let you down and NO it's not just for skin with poison oak problems.
